The dragon looks like it rarely has movement. The zombies had a nice fluid movement to them, but at the end of it you will get annoyed quickly by their jumps and moving through you. Someone who didn't own an xbox wouldn't understand the “I know this is an xbox indie game.” feeling I had. I looked at the torches you are given and noticed the “keeps monsters from spawning” tag on it. If you want to mine and try to build up items, have a fun time because monsters continue to spawn.
CASTLEMINER Z DEMO TRIAL
I couldn't build anything due to the timed trial which really affected how I viewed this game. A zombie with two axes that had more health than the others! I took a quick dip in the lava and ran around shooting at everything I could shoot at until I died. As I was down there I found most of my excitement in constant zombies spawning and I finally found my first zombie that was different. I couldn't get much from the game play expect from walk around, shoot at things, try to stab things, look up at the sky, and try to tell myself this dragon fits into a game like this. I'm very happy that you went with the dig upwards from the dirt to get spawned in the world. The constant same noise of every zombie gets on your nerves as they spawn constantly around you. As I said the mobs are very weak in design.
Unless the dragon has magical powers that raise the dead, this is the only thing I can think of. I began to laugh to myself for being this stupid. Miner is for the skeletons and Z is for the zombies. If we break up the name it reads as this. See the name of the game is Castleminer Z. I suddenly had a breakthrough and I will explain. It puzzled me for a while and I tried my best to figure out why these are in this game. I still do not understand skeletons and dragons. The game have a Z at the end of its name. Looking at other games that have zombies and are/are not popular I have to say your selection for mobs are very weak. Which after some time of walking slow they gain speed and jump around like a monkey, skeletons and a dragon flying above you. I have only found three (4 if you count a remade monster) I came across a zombie. I do not know how many different mobs there are in this game. Since we are on the topic about the monsters in this game, I suppose we can talk about them. As I was closing this window I died to the dragon that shoots fireballs at you. I understand that it is a demo and i'm allowed to a small portion of the game. You get to play endurance mode which I take it is see how far you can get away from your castle? You are only allowed to venture 300 units away as I couldn't wait to explore the world and have a window pop up telling me that i'm not allowed to. It closes your game and opens up a window to buy their game. A word of warning, I believe this is just like the xbox trial demos where it gives you roughly 7ish minutes. If you would like to try the game yourself, I suggest trying this.
I'm very happy that they even had a demo as most game makers do that anymore. I came across a demo for this game after deciding I wouldn't spend 8ish dollars on sale just to try this game. I'll try my best to talk about this game in a well mannered way and hope this helps people with a purchase or walk away from this game. After playing the demo three or four times, I believe I can talk about my experiences with in the game.
